Community Acupuncture

This week I was asked by some colleagues if I could lend a hand in Belfast Community Acupuncture Clinic. So up I went and it was a wonderful experience, the sense of community was amazing.

So what is Community Acupuncture then? For this particular clinic:

At Belfast Community Acupuncture clinic they treat a number of people in the same room while protecting privacy, dignity and confidentiality, and are therefore able to reduce costs and pass the savings onto their clients.

So now that I have been bitten by the Community Acupuncture bug I would love to know if anyone would be interested in having a Community Acupuncture Clinic available to them here in Co. Meath/North Dublin Area? I would love to hear your thoughts so please feel free to comment.

I’d like to thank Niamh for all her treatment and care during my last pregnancy. I came to Niamh requesting help to keep my blood pressure down because on my previous pregnancies I was on medication for BP which I wanted to avoid on my third pregnancy. Niamh treated me on a regular basis and I avoided medication and high BP issues. I also had 2 previous inductions and I really wanted to avoid a third induction. Niamh started pre-induction treatment a few weeks before my due date and then worked up to the full induction the week of my due date and I was delighted when I started labour myself 3 days after my due date and baby was born soon after that. Around March 2022 I started getting chronic migraines/headaches. These were persistent and never went away. It resulted in numerous brain scans, sinus scans with no results. I tried numerous treatments including hyperbaric therapy, medication, Botox all of which done nothing. I eventually ended up having sinus surgery thinking that might be the issue but sadly it wasn’t. After 2 neurologists and a number of other medical professionals I had literally given up hope and was coming to terms that I would be living in this 24 hour pain forever.
Then someone recommended acupuncture which I automatically dismissed as Chinese medicine BS but said what’s the worst that can happen. I started with Niamh and that day my head didn’t get any worse. In fact the next day it started to feel better and I couldn’t believe it. Niamh has got the pain down so low that most days I hardly even notice it. It’s not an understatement to say she has literally changed my life and has given me back the freedom to enjoy it basically pain free.

I attended Niamh in Anam Mai Acupuncture throughout my third pregnancy and found the sessions really beneficial. I had never overly been a fan of needles before, but I found that I really looked forward to my treatments with Niamh. Her easy manner and quiet confidence allowed me to relax and leave my stress behind. I found the acupuncture treatments wonderful for blocked sinuses and pregnancy swelling in my legs and ankles. I went for weekly treatments and the last treatment I had was two days before I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy at home after a short and wonderful labour.
